 by: Greg Pierce

We all know that Italians have some of the world's greatest cuisines. But they are most famous for their pasta which is very
tasty. Pasta, however, isn't the only cuisine that Italians are famous for. They are also recognized for their very tasty
Italian ice treats. Here are some recipes that you can enjoy and try these delights the Italian way.

The Basics

What you will need:

2 cups of water, 1 cup of orange, lemon, or pineapple 1 and ¼ cups of sugar, and a maraschino cherry to garnish

Procedure:

First, you have to mix sugar and water and boil them in a saucepan. Stir the mixture continually until the sugar crystals are
completely dissolved. Then let it cool. Add the juice then stir. Once done, pour down into a freezer- safe container. Then
put into the freezer for approximately 4 hours. During this time, stir it occasionally until it becomes completely frozen.
Then serve.

Fruit Juice

Things needed:

4 cups of distilled water. Tap water will also do. 2 cups of refined sugar or any type, 2 cups of juice of any flavor you
like.

Procedure:

Mix 4 cups of water and sugar in a saucepan. Put on top of the flame and let it heat up. Continually stir the mixture until
the sugar crystals are completely dissolved. Then let it boil for about 5 minutes. Set aside and let it cool. Once it has
cooled down, you can then add your juice and then put in the freezer. Then stir it occasionally until frozen.

Fruit Punch

Ingredients:

A bottle of sprite or 7 up soda, a bottle of fruit punch preferrably chilled, 3-5 Italian ice of your favorite flavors.

Procedure:

Mix the fruit punch and the sprite or 7up in a container. Then let the Italian Ice float on top and serve.

Lemon

Things you'll need:

1 pint of clean water, 3 large of ripe lemons, about 1/2 teaspoon of lemon peel grated, and about 3/4 pound of granulated
sugar

Steps:

Combine water, lemon peel and sugar in a saucepan and let it boil. Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes then remove from heat and
set it aside. Squeeze the lemons and if there are seeds, remove them. Mix the cooled syrup and the freshly squeezed lemon
juice. You can add sugar to suit your taste and add water to neutralize the acidity. Pop it in the freezer and occasionally
stir it until it becomes fluffy.
