A solar shed light is a great way to light up a shed or small building ! Here
are some tips to successfully install solar shed lighting for your shed.
First, find a good spot inside your shed to mount the solar shed light. This
should be someplace where it is easy to reach to switch the solar shed light
on and off and where it will also shine the solar shed lighting where you need
it. The surface should be flat and suitable for mounting a solar shed light on
it.
Next, find a good spot outside your shed to put the small solar panel that
will charge up the batteries for the solar shed lighting. It should face south
and sit where the panel for the solar shed lighting can get exposure to full
sunlight for as many hours as possible during the day. Look at your shed many
times throughout a sunny day to see the location on the shed that gets maximum
sun for the solar shed lighting. Look for possible sources of shade, such as
tree branches, overhangs and other structures, or anything else that might
cast shade on the panel for your solar shed lighting. The more hours of
sunlight that the solar shed lighting’s panel gets, the better chance it will
have to fully recharge the solar shed light’s batteries each day.
A wire will connect the solar shed light and the mini solar panel. Measure the
wire to see how long it is. Once you have chosen good locations for the solar
shed light and the solar panel, find a place where the wire can go between the
solar panel outside and the solar shed light inside your shed. Measure the
distance between the solar shed light and the solar panel to make sure that
your wire will reach between the two. Drill a hole for the solar shed
lighting’s wire, if necessary.
Mount the solar shed lighting’s mini solar panel on the outside of your shed
and the solar shed light on the inside. Run the wire between the two, securing
the wire safely against the surface of the shed. If your shed is large, you
may even want to add additional solar shed lighting, to light up even more
areas inside your shed with solar shed lighting.
Congratulations ! You now have a solar shed light that is maintenance-free
with no electrical wiring necessary, with a built-in night light so that you
can find the solar shed light’s switch easily and best of all, your solar shed
lighting is automatically powered by free power from the sun.
