Subsequent to its inauguration in the Pakistani car industry some three
decades ago, Honda quickly grew to the top and soon prevailed in the sectors
it was competing in. The Accord and Civic were the basic two models brought in
to the middle and high-end sectors of the auto industry and provided a lot
more in terms of comfort, quality and convenience versus what other car
producers were offering during that era.
At the time when Honda was brought in, the Pakistani auto business was mainly
lead by Toyota, which had a few admired models like the Corolla, Land Cruiser,
Crown and Corona available for distinctive consumer categories. Other car
makers like Nissan, Suzuki and Mazda had an insignificant number of models as
well but were behind majorly in terms of market share and customer loyalty.
These automobiles had features that were generic in all models in their group
and provided little in terms of options.
Soon after the debut of Honda in Pakistan, customers could gain leisure and
dependability at very similar rates. The Accord and Civic both had finer
designs and a more attractive appearance that were obviously different to the
shapes obtainable in the marketplace. Trims and features like extra reading
lamps and powered windows made these cars alluring for folks who could afford
them. Large foreign and local companies that once acquired Toyota for their
employees were now eager to obtain Honda.
Honda has constantly been a significantly ahead of the competition in terms of
looks and engineering. Every one of its model has seen additions in features
and trims and superb design quality. The interior was more open proving to be
more satisfactory for driving on urban streets and motorways. To serve each of
the valuable categories while persisting with Honda's quality and posh image,
Honda brought in the City, with a smaller engine size very similar to that of
the lower end Corollas and began local manufacturing to get a better grip on
price control.
The exceptional performance and handling of the automobiles were far better..
The engines were superbly engineered with effective fuel utilization, with
each model giving the feel of a larger car than its class. Time showed Honda
to be highly reliable and almost maintenance free aside from the general oil
change and fuel top up making them highly popular used cars as well. Although
at first the resale worth of a Honda was poorer compared to that of a Toyota,
the climb in demand of used Civics and Citys soon resulted in an increase in
prices.
Since its debut Honda has always been able to fabricate automobiles that are a
significantly ahead of the competition. It's launch of a two-tiered interior
control panel, large windshields, finer performing engines and top class
designs have assisted Honda continue it's advantage over the years. The
detailed and highly reliable manufacturing has made them the first choice for
used car buyers. In spite of introduction of cars by numerous other producers,
Honda it seems will not be giving up its dominant title for a considerable
amount of time.
